During the last year we managed to notice the mediocre technical quality of some recent spacesynth releases. Basically, the sound is over compressed and brick-walled which makes listening to the whole CD quite unpleasant experience. We are not sure if this is an artistic decision made according to the "loudness wars" fashion or just plain lack of experience of mastering engineers responsible for the final album sound. We can however state firmly that Alpha Centauri is not going to follow those questionable practices. We put technical quality on first place and we do believe that the spacesynth genre really benefits from wide dynamic range maintained in original recordings. We also actively support Turn Me Up initiative.
