ALPHA CENTAURI

It all started in 1999 in Poland, when AXIS f.u.h. was established by Maciej Repetowski and Radoslaw Repetowski to operate as a multimedia company. At the beginning, the company was involved mainly in music production and audio mastering for third parties.

We have created several audio background tracks for advertisements and we've made a few digital audio masterings for local Hip-Hop groups. With the absence of interest form local bussinesses for such a specific products, in November 1999 we decided to start importing and selling rare and collector's CDs with electronic music. At that time, a separate division of our company (called R & R Records) was created, together with our internet record store. In 2001, AXIS f.u.h. started preparations to become a record publisher. Using "R & R Records" trademark, an independent record label aimed for electronic music has been created. In December 2001, first album in our catalogue, RR 0001 CD (Bookovsky - Analogy), was published and received good reviews.

At the beginnig of 2003, due to conflicts about future of our record label, the company was divided into AXIS Records (owned by Maciej Repetowski) and R.A.R.E. Music (owned by Radoslaw Repetowski). Both of them operated on separate base, without beeing bussiness partners.

In January 2005, we decided to take an advantage of Poland becoming a member of European Union and to start a process of creating an UK based record label. The transition was completed in October 2005 with permanent migration to UK and creation of Alpha Centauri record label. The new label has bought all the remaining stock from (then dissolved) AXIS Records, in order to maintain continuity. Most of old AXIS Records releases are still available in our online shop. In 2006, Alpha Centauri published their first releases - Electron and Space Project albums.

In 2010, after a few years of break in publishing activity, Alpha Centauri is back, stronger than ever and as always willing to cause quite a stir in the spacesynth world. The future looks great...
